Biography

Alexa Laheij graduated as a psychologist at the University of Tilburg in 2002. Then she studied dentistry at ACTA, where she graduated, cum laude, as a dentist in 2007. She combined working as a dentist in general practices with performing research at ACTA. In 2014 she received her PhD on the topic ‘Factors influencing oral health during cancer treatment’. She is currently co-owner of a dental practice. And she works as a researcher and lecturer in the departments of Oral Medicine (oral health in cancer patients, resuscitation) and Preventive Dentistry (hygiene and infection prevention in dentistry) at ACTA.
